Qatar Athletics Federation: ERP and Mobile Expense Management Case Study
Akwad Programming’s work for the Qatar Athletics Federation combined ERP implementation with an expense-management mobile application. The engagement covered payroll, expense workflows, budgeting, Arabic translations, infrastructure migration and user training.
Connecting finance and event operations
A federation manages financial records alongside activities involving events, participants and operational teams. In this engagement, the delivered ERP work included payroll, a Salary Register, multi-company setup and multi-currency support. These areas formed part of the system’s administrative and financial scope.
Mobile expense submission
Akwad developed mobile login APIs, event APIs, expense category APIs and expense submission APIs. The application connects the mobile expense journey to the underlying business system, with Expense Claim workflows supporting the review process.
Budget reporting and supporting records
The delivered reporting work included budget balance reports and budget transfer reports. Referee timesheets were also part of the engagement. These features address different parts of the organisation’s workflow rather than treating expense submission as an isolated form.
Arabic support and rollout
The engagement included Arabic translations, an AWS migration and user training. These are practical parts of implementation: staff need understandable screens, a suitable deployment environment and guidance on using the agreed processes.
Planning a similar system
Before commissioning an expense or event operations app, identify the approval stages, expense categories, supporting documents, budget reporting needs and user roles. Agree how the mobile application connects to the ERP and which information users can access. Test complete journeys with the finance and operational teams before rollout.
